This artwork is based on a photo taken on the western shore of Kunming Lake (昆明湖) in the Summer Palace (颐和园) in Beijing, China. The bridge in the photo is known as the Jade Belt Bridge (玉带桥), and it is more than 200 years old.
The exquisite style of this bridge came from southern China. The design of high arch and thin deck accommodated the imperial dragon boat of the Emperor.
I was trying to add some other taste to this oriental scene. Therefore, I attached some pieces of paper with scribble art on the acrylic painted background.
My mom told me that I went to this place with her when I was a little child, but I hardly remember. I believe I will capture the beauty with my own eyes some day.
