Tianjin is a major city adjacent to the capital of China. This artwork was inspired by a photo taken there during a family trip when I was a little kid. When I reviewed these photos, I recalled the feeling of being messed up when strolling around the commercial district with my family.
I painted the background first, and then glued a piece of burned paper with the scribble art onto it after the acrylic had dried. I tried to present that, it was not easy to grasp a moment when it seems unreal.
This work is one of the series of “concentration”. It won Gold Key in 2020 Scholastic Art Awards.
